Ship Wasa
The Wasa is a Swedish warship that was lost in Stockholm harbour on 10 August 1628 during her maiden voyage. The ship was salvaged and conserved in 1961. It is on display at the Vasa Museum in Stockholm-Djurgården.
King Gustav II Adolf commissioned the Dutch shipbuilder Henrik Hybertsson to build four warships in Stockholm in 1625, including the three-master Wasa . The Wasa had 64 guns spread over two decks and was 62 metres long, 11.50 metres wide and 50 metres high. The ship was built for a crew of 435 men and weighed 1,200 tons.
